Captain Alex Pearce picked up the Man Of The Match award

Nov 2012: Reading boss Ally Clark said he was ecstatic with his team after they overcame a classy Arsenal side at The Madejski.

Moussa Maazou was the man the grabbed the winning goal with a deft header from a Pavol Vavrik corner kick, 3 minutes before half time. Maazou has been on top form for Reading since his 2.4M switch from CSKA Moscow. This his 8th goal of the league campaign so far.

After the break Arsenal tried to get back into the game but a man of the match performance from new Reading captain Alex Pearce was enough to secure the 3 points The Royals deserved.

Reading now rise to 11th in the table but face a tricky fortnight with a trip to old Trafford followed by the visit of Maik Taylor’s Liverpool side.
