Pearce: I Deserve Scotland Call

Pearce has been on top form for reading this season

Oct 2012: Reading defender has critised Scotland boss Craig Levein for leaving him out of the Scotland squad for the forthcoming World Cup 2014 Qualifiers.

The 24 year old is uncapped and has been in the form of his life over the last 18 months for the Premiership newcomers.

“I feel I deserve a place in the Scotland set up. it’s always been my dream to play for Scotland at International level and I think I’ve now reached the sort of form and level needed. But I keep getting over looked. It’s frustrating, but I’ll just need to work harder”

Scotland boss Levein was unavailable to respond.


Reading 1-2 Sunderland

Oct 2012: Sunderland ended Reading’s run of 3 games without defeat with a comfortable away victory at the Madjeski Stadium.

Frazier Campell put Sunderland ahead after only 6 minutes before in form Reading hitman Moussa Maazou equilised against the run of play just two minutes later.

The Black Cats were unlucky not to go ahead again when Lee Cattermole saw his effort chalked off for being offside. The deciding goal of the came from the penalty spot after Reading captain Matt Mills brought down Frazier Campbell just inside the box after half an hour. Andy Reid stepped up to slot the ball home.

Despite the scoreline, Sunderland were fairly comfortable and Reading failed to create many chances.

Birmingham 2-3 Reading

 

Reading fans celebrate their teams comeback

Oct 2012: Reading came from two down to pick up their first away win of the season in a thrilling encounter with Birmingham at St Andrews.

Keith Andrews was unlucky to opening the scoring with an own goal from a deflected Craig Fagan shot. The teams went in 1-0 at half time but it could have been more for Birmingham.

Just 3 minutes after the break Craig Fagan scored from a corner to put Birmingham 2-0 up and Reading into deep trouble. However in an amazing turn around in just 10 second half minutes, Former CSKA Moscow hit man Moussa Maazou scored twice, either side of a Keith Andrews header.

The win is Reading’s 2nd in succession and lifts The Royals to 11th in the table.

Marvin Emnes Has A Go For Boro

 

 

Octber 2012: Reading continued on their good form at Goodison park last weekend to claim 3 points against a struggling Middlesbrough at The Madjeski Stadium.

With the club still embroiled in rumours of a potential takeover from a fans group, Ally Clark said his boys would do the talking on the pitch and they most certainly did.

Young Scot David Templeton continued his rich vain of form for The Royals with a stunning 25 yard strike that ultimatley ended up being the only goal of the game. It was also another solid defensive performance from Reading’s Alex Pearce and Matt Mills.

Reading rise to 13th in the table, with 8 points.
