Reading 3-1 Bolton

Dec 2012: Reading refocused themselves after a disappointing last fortnight with an effective performance against mid table rivals Bolton.

Although the game started much different to how it ended when George Boyd put Bolton infront after ten minutes.

When the first half finished 1-1, Reading emerged in the 2nd with a new attitude and it paid off straight away when Steven Fletcher scored just 3 minutes after the restart from a penalty kick. Pavol Vavrik was hauled down in the box by Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelienien.

Danny Swanson completed the scoring after 66 minutes.

Reading rise to 11th in the table, proving the critics wrong who said they were destined to go straight back to The Championship.

Takeover Drags On

Dec 2012: Conflicting reports today suggest that nobody really knows what is going on in the Reading takeover bid.

A source close to the RFL, the supporters group looking to takeover the club stated that talks between the two parties were “very close to collapse”

When that news hit the media Reading chairman John Madejski was quick to rubbish it and informed reporters outside the clubs stadium that “talks are progressing slowly, but we still would like to reach a deal within the next few weeks”

Reading 0-3 Liverpool

Raul Meireles celebrates his strike with Dirk Kuyt

Dec 2012: Reading suffered another heavy defeat to superior opponents at the hands of Maik Taylor’s Liverpool.

Despite having a healthy amount of efforts on goal, Reading failed to convert them into goals and were ultimately punished by an unsympathetic Liverpool.

Lucas put the Reds in front 3 minutes before the break. Raul Meireles & Arnara Diarra both scored within a minute of each other to clinch the game for Liverpool. The scoreline may have slightly flattered Liverpool but it was a story of superior finishing from a better quality side at the end of the day.
