Everton 0-0 Reading

Sept 2012: The Royals ended their run of 3 straight league defeats with a hard fought victory over a determined Everton side at Goodison Park.

The hosts bombarded keeper Tomas Cerny’s goal in the opening 15 minutes before Reading found some sort of stable ground. From then on the match was more or less evenly contested with both sides failing to create any real chances.

In the second half Everton dominated possession wise, but created very few openings much in part due to a superb defensive performance from both Alex Pearce and Matt Mills.

Reading now end the month of September in 16th position on 5 points. Only 2 points seperates them from bottom club Middlesbrough who they play next.

Reading 0-3 Man City

Tevez was on form for City

Sept 2012: Reading suffered their 3rd consecutive defeat as Man City brushed them aside at The Madjeski Stadium.

Reading looked tired throughout and created only 1 shot on target. Meanwhile Man City bombarded the Reading defence and had two goals chopped off that could have made the scoreline a whole lot worse for Reading.

A brace from Tevez and a penalty from James Milner helped the men in sky blue to an ultimatley comfortable win.

New Bid To Takeover Reading?

Reading were the target of a failed takeover attempt in July.

Reading are once again rumoured to be in the midst of a take over. This time fans group RFL (Royal For Life) are said to be behind a bid to make Reading the first fan owned football club in England.

Chairman John Madjeski refused to comment on the speculation linking the club with a takeover and assured the clubs supporters that they would be the first to know if any such deal was about to take place.


Aston Villa 1-0 Reading

Matt Mills missed two great chances.

September 2012: Reading were once again forced to rue missed oppertunities and Aston Villa claimed a 1-0 win.

Gabby Agbonlahor’s 9th minute goal was enough to seperate the two sides but Reading fans will be disappointed that chances from Cohen, Pearce and Matt Mills were not converted.

Reading now face a double header aginst the two Manchester giants. Playing Man Utd at Old Trafford in the 3rd round of the League Cup & then Man City at home in the league.

Tottenham 4-2 Reading

Huddlestone opened the scoring for Spurs.

Sept 2012 – Reading were made to rue missed chances at White Hart Lane as Spurs emerged victorious in an entertaining game.

Tom Huddlestone, Dimitar Berbatov and Nico Krankjar put Spurs 3-0 up after 60 minues. Moussa Maazou grabbed his second goal for the club to make it 3-1 before loanee Steven Fletcher gave Reading the chance of a comeback and made it 3-2.

An Emmanuel Boakye own goal sealed the win for Spurs in the 87th minute. Reading will be disappointed by the numerous chances that came to nothing during the second half.
